Two ultra-low-cost carriers fly out of Provo (PVU) and Ogden (OGD). Which one should you choose for your next vacation?
Flying out of smaller Utah airports like Provo or Ogden has become incredibly popular. Both Allegiant Air and Breeze Airways offer "ultra-low-cost" base fares, but they offer very different experiences once you step on the plane.
If prices are similar, we strongly recommend Breeze Airways. The planes are much newer, the seats are more comfortable, and their cancellation policies are much more forgiving for families. However, if Allegiant is significantly cheaper and you know how to pack light, it's still a great way to get to SoCal or Florida!
Breeze Airways is generally considered better than Allegiant for passenger experience. Breeze offers no change or cancellation fees, free family seating, and newer aircraft (Airbus A220s) with better legroom and in-flight Wi-Fi. Allegiant charges for carry-on bags and seat assignments and has strict change fees. However, Allegiant sometimes offers slightly cheaper base fares and flies to different secondary airports. From Provo (PVU), Breeze is the preferred choice for families.
